License Compliance

  • All license management features are only relevant for enterprise customers with enterprise licenses.
  • Odin DRM is optional, and is only here to help you manage your seats. If you choose to enable Odin DRM, we can let you know whenever additional licenses are needed, and you can safely scale without worrying about compliance.
  • Odin DRM will never prevent Odin from working on any machine, ever. If additional licenses are needed this will be visible on the target machine, but Odin will continue to function under all circumstances.
On the dashboard of your organization you'll see an overview of how many people are using Odin and on which machines, roughly when each license was last used, how many licenses you have, how many licenses are required and whether or not additional licenses are needed:

1) Available Licenses

The number of enterprise account licenses that have been transferred to your organization. One license covers one seat; IE, up to two machines in use by one person.

2) License requirement

The calculation made to give you an estimate of how many licenses are needed looks like this:

Licenses required = Unaccepted Invitations + members that are not administrators + Administrators with an assigned license + Non-User Machine Claims.

3) Machine Claims

The number of machines that have been registered as using the DRM enabled Odin build.

Note that this number can in some cases be more than the number of members on your team. A single license seat covers up to two machines, in use by one person.

4) Compliance

An estimated number that indicates whether you have more or less licenses than needed. If this number is negative, you do not have enough licenses.

The calculation looks like this:

Compliance = Available Licenses - Licenses required.

Note that the license requirement is an estimate; the number is precise, given that the information and claims the system has been given are correct. As such, the number given is a guideline assuming correct usage of the system, and the actual number of legally required licenses may differ as defined by the EULA.
